Have you ever taken your car for auto repair to a relatively cheap car repair shop only to find yourself going back for more repairs? Or after spending on car repair parts that you did not even think you needed at the time, you’re going back to your car mechanic just after a month?
Although, car mechanics may appear like they are gods under the hood, they can make mistakes. And not just because they’re only human, but because (believe it or not) some of these “mechanics” are not even fully-trained!
These are especially true for very low-priced auto repair shops. They offer very low prices on labor and auto repair parts but frequently compensate the low revenue by failing to give complete trainings for their repair mechanics.
This is of course, something that a paying customer should not accept – when you have to spend your hard-earned cash on a flimsy job, that’s just NOT okay. Their business is to repair your car, that’s why you came to their shop. Being the paying customer that you are however, does not entitle you to be rude – but you do have the right to demand respect, quality and accuracy. That is what you call customer service.
Many auto repair shops and mechanics have for a long time hidden behind the belief that because you may not know how to do the job yourself, that they are more superior. Then again, if you are well informed you can change that mantra to your advantage.
Of course, we cannot completely stamp out mistakes, as these will most likely still happen. But if you did your homework and have chosen a respectable repair shop they will take mistakes into account when you’re looking at your bill.
